THERAPIST RESOURCES
A curated set of tools to support your clients through separation, divorce and co-parenting transitions
Welcome, Therapists! This is for YOU

This page is a private resource hub created for Minnesota therapists who support clients navigating separation, divorce and co-parenting challenges. These tools are designed to help you guide conversations, reduce overwhelm and offer practical structure during high-stress family transitions.
You’re welcome to share these resources with your clients during session or between sessions. They are brief, simple and intentionally grounded so they don’t add cognitive load for clients already carrying a lot. Thank you for ALL you do! It means a lot and you matter. -Mediator Mikki, Great River Mediations
How These Resources Help
These one-page tools give your clients:
- Gentle structure when conversations feel messy or reactive
- A calmer way to approach co-parenting decisions
- Language for introducing mediation without triggering alarm
- A steadying explanation of emotional pacing
- A sense that what they’re experiencing is normal and workable
They’re designed to complement the therapeutic work already happening in your room, not replace it.

About Great River Mediations
I’m Mikki McGill, a Minnesota full-time family mediator and divorce finance professional (CDFA). I work closely with therapists across the state to create a calmer, steadier path for families facing separation, divorce or co-parenting conflict.
My role is to help clients slow down, understand their options and make decisions that preserve their emotional wellbeing, financial resources and relational stability. Mediation supports the therapeutic work you’re already doing by giving families a structured place to reach sustainable agreements.
If you ever want to collaborate or talk through a complex case, I’m here.
